Jaja is an innovative UK based consumer finance business, leading initially with a digital credit card launched in 2018, and a pipeline of consumer finance solutions in the making. Working closely with our scheme provider and leveraging our own consumer credit license authorised by FCA, we are challenging an industry that has seen little real innovation in nearly twenty years.
In July 2019 Jaja led a consortium which purchased the Bank of Ireland credit card portfolio, investing over £0.5bn. It also resulted in fresh investments in Jaja from major Private Equity funds including Centerbridge and KKR who have recognised the change that Jaja is bringing to the market.
As a result the business is growing rapidly and we are on the lookout for great talent across the organisation.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re looking for someone who understands payment schemes ‘inside out’, including Mastercard and Visa to join us as a Payment Scheme Manager/SME on a contract basis. The successful candidate must have a flexible, pro-active attitude and be focused on delivering the scheme workstream for a big project we’re focused on, supporting some of the co-brands we’re working with and optimising existing settings.
This is a position we would like to fill ASAP and is a contract/temp role.
Managing the conclusion of Jaja’s Mastercard membership in line with the wider project plan and schedule.
Leading on the set-up of Jaja’s ‘go-to’ Visa config. including all elements of the transitory plan from Mastercard including liason with all third parties (including TSYS, TMS, Bank of Ireland amongst others).
Leading of the ‘retrospective review’ of ALL scheme config. and set-up, updating of all paperwork, registered signatories and so on.
Support of Jaja’s mobile payments workstream.
Support of Jaja’s central project testing workstream.
Leading on the definition and sign-off of the future operating model for scheme including contributing to the set-up of that function.
The successful candidate must have the right to work in the UK. They will meet the following criteria:
Extensive knowledge of the membership process at both Mastercard and Visa.
Extensive knowledge and experience of card and chip configuration, scheme set-up, STIP and encryption keys at both Mastercard and Visa.
A willingness to roll-up sleeves, be flexible, and take responsibility for both the scheme set-up and the impact on the programme and the customer.
Well-developed Adobe/Excel/PowerPoint skills.
Well-developed verbal and written communications skills.
A hunger and excitement to work for a fast-growing business.
Experience of working ‘client side’.
Experience of working for a fin-tech operating in credit cards.
Good interpersonal skills with a touch of humility.
Ability to work with minimal supervision within a dynamic team environment.
Able to manage a variety of different tasks and processes, at any one given time.
Ability to work at pace without compromising quality.
Attention to detail.
Methodical and thorough.
